I was called to the Barreau du Québec in 2012, and joined the law firm of Me Caroline Simard, where I had worked as a summer student and law clerk. I come from Warwick, in Central Quebec, where my family owns a dairy farm. I earned my college diploma from the CÉGEP de Victoriaville, and I completed my law degree (LL.L) at the University of Ottawa where I graduated in 2011 with great honour (magna cum laude). In the fall of 2011, I completed the condensed training of the Quebec Bar School, while working part-time with Me Caroline Simard.
I am a versatile lawyer and practise mainly in the following fields: family law, civil and commercial litigation and civil liability. I am also a partner of Juripop, which implies that I regularly assist and advise victims of sexual violence or harassment in the workplace.
I make it my duty to provide my clients with a clear picture of the situation and ensure that they agree to a reasonable position. In all my cases, my role is to help clients to achieve their goal, and I can be creative and think out of the box in order to find a satisfactory solution.
I am also an accredited family mediator with the Barreau du Québec. This allows me to resolve family disputes outside the traditional legal process.
In 2018, I added a string to my bow with teaching contracts. Among others, I have taught contract law, civil liability, family law and pleading techniques, both at the University of Ottawa and at the École du Barreau.
Teaching is my way of passing on the valuable knowledge that I learned earlier in my career, while ensuring I remain updated on the latest developments in the field.
I make it a point to give back to my community by getting involved in different ways. Over the past years, I have sat on the following Boards:
In 2019, I was elected by my peers to the Board of the Civil Law Section at the University of Ottawa. I am currently presiding the Private Practice Committee of the Outaouais Bar, which also makes me the representative of the Outaouais Section at the Provincial Private Practice Committee.
In 2021, I became Governor of the Quebec Bar Foundation in recognition of my contribution to the advancement of the law and the exemplary nature of my professional career.
Every year, I donate many hours of my time to the Justice Pro Bono Québec organization, defending cases of public interest.
I am an avid reader and I keep abreast of current political and legal news. I particularly enjoy games of strategy, like chess, which I have played since I was a teenager. To keep in good physical condition, I practise running, biking, swimming and I go to the gym regularly.
I am also a happy dad and our 2 sons make the pride and joy of my wife and I.
